The winding engine, part of the remains of the Haig Pit, an early twentieth century colliery, on the Whitehaven Coast, Cumbria. The National Trust is now managing the first section of this area on the west coast of Cumbria, from Whitehaven Harbour to the Haig Pit Mining Museum.
