The Hall looking towards the Painted Staircase at Hanbury Hall. The Staircase was painted by James Thornhill c.1710. The black marble chimneypiece is original with a later inserted alabaster slab bearing the Vernon motto "Vernon semper viret (Vernon always flourishes)"
